If your truck has tuning, performance upgrades, larger tires, or sees heavy towing, traction bars are a must-have upgrade. Under acceleration or load, the rear axle wants to rotate against the leaf springs, causing axle wrap, wheel hop, traction loss, and added stress on U-joints, driveshafts, pinion gears, and suspension components.
Outlaw Fab Traction Bars are built to keep the rear axle planted and controlled. Each kit is designed specifically for 2001–2010 Chevy/GMC 2500HD and 3500HD trucks and matched to your cab and bed configuration for proper fitment. No universal “make it work” brackets, no welding, and no guesswork.
Preload Adjustable Design
Unlike basic traction bars that use a fixed bushing on one end, Outlaw Fab bars use heavy-duty heim joints on both ends with true turnbuckle-style preload adjustment. This allows you to add or reduce tension without removing the bars from the truck.
A properly preloaded heim joint setup gives a more precise and responsive connection between the axle and frame. Bushing-style bars can absorb movement, flex, and wear over time, while Outlaw Fab’s adjustable design lets you fine-tune the bars for your truck’s suspension and ride height.
To adjust preload, simply loosen the jam nuts and rotate the hex end of the bar clockwise or counterclockwise. With one left-hand thread and one right-hand thread, both heim joints move in or out at the same time for quick and simple adjustment.
Lift Height Options
Please select the correct lift height option for your truck.
The 0–8 inch lift option fits trucks from a reverse leveling kit or slightly lower than stock height all the way up to an 8 inch lift. This is the correct option for stock height trucks, leveled trucks, reverse-leveled trucks, and trucks lifted up to 8 inches.
The 8.5 inch+ lift option includes our 5 inch drop frame mounts. These mounts lower the frame-side mounting point to help keep the traction bar angle less severe on taller lifted trucks, improving fitment, appearance, and suspension geometry.

Installation Notes
Frame bracket installation requires drilling. Eight holes must be drilled to mount the frame brackets.
After installation, give each traction bar at least two full counterclockwise rotations when looking at the hex end of the bar to apply preload to the heim joints. This helps prevent thread wear caused by constant push-and-pull movement from an unpreloaded suspension.
